Dev Log #006 / Farm Forge

Brazil 8192: A Reproducible Blank Terrain Authoring Base

5 October authoring-template work: an 8.192 km red-soil canvas, 2 m height sampling, empty 16,384-square density maps, overwrite protection and recorded native compilation limits.

Purpose and separation from the active maps

On 5 October, an isolated Brazilian red-soil authoring base was created as a clean canvas for future work. Aurora was not edited to produce it. The result is a template rather than a finished farming map.

The canvas is centred at the origin and contains no roads, buildings, trees, fields or placed equipment. One editable farmland covers the terrain, with invisible player and vehicle spawn markers near the centre.

Terrain and raster specification

  • World extent: 8,192 × 8,192 m; area 67.108864 km².
  • Heightmap: 4,097 × 4,097; spacing 2 m; uniform elevation 50 m.
  • Density rasters: 16,384 × 16,384; no authored crops or cultivation.
  • Source check: 12 XML documents; 0 fields; 0 buildings; no missing file references.

The 8,192 metre world extent is represented by 4,097 height samples per axis at 2 metre intervals: (4,097 − 1) × 2 = 8,192 metres. The terrain is flat at 50 metres. The world area is 67.108864 square kilometres, 16 times a standard 2,048 × 2,048 metre footprint.

The surface uses bare iron-red soil with local red albedo textures and installed native soil normal maps. Crop, cultivation, foliage, weed, stone and tipped-material density data begin empty.

A southern latitude of −15.6 is configured, but weather and agricultural systems still use the installed baseline. A regional Brazilian climate and crop calendar have not been authored.

Reproduction and native compilation

The build script reproduces the source in an empty destination and refuses to overwrite an existing mod descriptor. Once future work is made in GIANTS Editor, its compiled GDM/GRLE data must be preserved instead of being replaced by blank source PNGs.

Native GIANTS Editor saved the scene on 5 October and compiled six density maps. The native validation record contains no Error entries but retains texture-array compatibility warnings, including BC7-versus-BC3 and mip-chain differences among installed texture layers.

The package report records an 8,978,275-byte archive with SHA-256 2ea975fadc41589c838d08251794cfc75b249b45815c940a051f6a3f3a58341e. It explicitly records gameTested: false. Packaging and editor compilation do not establish native gameplay acceptance.

What remains before this becomes a playable map

  • Evidence: README.md; source-validation.json; native-validation.json; package.json.

Dealer and selling points, authored fields, road access, farm sites and regional agricultural behaviour remain future work. The next acceptance stages need to address the texture warnings, native game loading, save/reload and the specific facilities eventually added.

The useful Technologies outcome is a reproducible starting surface with explicit dimensions and a protection rule for later edits. It gives new map work a known baseline without implying that an empty terrain is already a completed world.
