01

Credit and permission

Fox Farms was originally created by Zoli708. The map, its original identity and the work that made people want to keep playing it belong in that story, so the credit stays visible here rather than disappearing behind a conversion label.

TW Farms has permission to take the original FS22 map forward into this 4x FS25 conversion and expansion. The original source is being preserved, and the aim is to build on Zoli708’s work rather than overwrite its authorship.

02

What the project is

Fox Farms is a TW Farms conversion and expansion project taking Zoli708’s authorised FS22 source into an FS25 development workflow while preserving the original. The work is deliberately treated as engineering rather than a simple file-format conversion.

The project has been useful because it forces every part of the conversion to be checked properly: dependency discovery, terrain and ownership consistency, native editor compilation, repeatable packaging and inspection of the actual game state.

03

Conversion engineering

The initial audit parsed 128 XML/I3D documents with zero parse errors but still found 1,649 missing FS25 reference occurrences representing 854 unique references. Of those unique references, 793 were present in installed FS22 assets.

That was the useful lesson: syntactically valid XML does not mean a map has been converted. Native references, local files, archive paths and runtime systems all had to be separated and tested instead of blindly rewritten.

04

Fields, crops and productions

The field-numbering polygon audit records 67 fields with no invalid polygons, duplicate identifiers, duplicate vertices or overlaps in that check. Crop and production work preserved custom material types and extended relevant selling-point configuration.

Those configuration results are not being inflated into claims that every crop, sale and production cycle has been physically proven. Runtime acceptance is kept separate.

  • 67 audited fields; invalid polygons 0; overlaps 0.
  • 176 stock fill types retained in the production baseline.
  • 13 custom types preserved and 4 added forage types recorded.
  • Editor-only all-placeables preview merge: 134 matches and no mismatches.

05

Current acceptance boundary

A dedicated test slot loaded, saved and reloaded successfully, with the fourth reload log containing no Error entries and earlier traffic, cattle-navigation and obsolete-vehicle errors no longer recurring.

Actual sales and unloading, complete production cycles, cattle purchase/movement, civilian traffic driving and a full ground-level tour were not confirmed by that finishing report. The project stays marked as development until those gaps are closed.
